Parker races in Pinewood Derby

Parker raced his car in the Pinewood Derby this morning and got 2nd place in the Tiger division. It was fun to see how all the cars were designed and decorated. PaPa and Glenn helped Parker build and paint his car over Christmas. It was fun for him to participate in making the car.

100 Winning Ways

We are so proud of Parker. He was recognized at school yesterday for getting 100 winning ways. Winning ways are awarded to students by teachers for good behavior, helpfulness, classroom achievements, etc. He got to speak on the intercom during the morning announcements and was given a "Copeland Colt" pin to wear on his collar.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

We had a very fun visit with Granny, PaPa, Rachel and Andy over Christmas. We also got to visit with Grandma and Uncle Winston. Granny and PaPa decorated the whole backyard with Christmas lights and props - it was cool stuff. We had great food and I think Parker and Glenn have been disappointed with our meals since returning home after a week of home-cooking and desserts every night. Parker is really enjoying his Christmas presents and Santa presents, but starting to get bored with no playmates (I heard him whispering today that he couldn't wait for the bus to come again).

We welcomed the new year by watching the New York ball drop and looking at all the neighborhood fireworks - folks must really be excited about 2007 as the fireworks didn't end until 2am... Not in love with the neighbors right now obviously. We didn't make any resolutions, but we did start off the year on the right foot - Parker wrote all his birthday and Christmas thank you notes, I went through my closet and packed one sack for give-away and a huge crate for storage and Glenn went on his first HOG (Harley owners group) ride. We're also having a traditional new year supper tonight with Italian Chicken, cabbage and black-eyed peas (sadly no dime as Glenn and Parker are bacteria-phobs).

I will post some Christmas pictures as soon as I get them downloaded.
