Kudos for Parker!!!

We are very proud of Parker for working so hard at school lately and studying for his school benchmark tests. The Benchmark tests are given to all the children 2X yearly to track their progress and determine class placement. We think he did AWESOME!!!!

Math - 100%
Science - 100%
Social Studies - 93%

He has also been being very polite and helpful at home (even more than usual since I've been preggers and sick) AND is concentrating on developing good technique and team-attitude this season in soccer.

All-round kudos to Parker!

Spring Break kickoff

Well, it's spring break in Houston! Parker is off school and Glenn is off work -- for a whole week! We have big plans to start/finish the baby room. Yesterday Parker and Glenn moved all the remaining furniture and stuff out of the office and into storage. Today we went to Lowe's and picked out a pink paint for the walls. Who knew there could be so many different versions of pink?? We could not all agree on one. Parker and Glenn ended up agreeing on one, but I vetoed and picked a paler version. Hope it was a smart veto or else I'll be hearing about it when they have to re-paint! They are taping the room this afternoon and hopefully will be able to do the first coat today.
Parker has been a bit bummed that we were not "doing anything" for spring break (like visiting anyone or going skiing or camping or to Disneyland). I think all his friends must have talked up their plans at school.... But I think that we are having a pretty good time. Besides helping with the baby room, he did a wholly mammoth paleontology dig kit on Saturday, has been doing some "disgusting and horrible" science experiments with Glenn, planted some flowers for me in all our pots and around some trees, discovered Price is Right (and looooves it), went to soccer practice and has been watching alot of Monster Jam. We're planning a bowling trip and Glenn is planning to take him to the Houston Rodeo (and carnival) for a day.
My DAR chapter adopted us for dinner last night. Our regent drove it over and stayed to visit a while - it was fun. They made us a huge honey baked ham, a big platter of homemade mac n cheese, homemade sweet green beans (with yummy ham chunks), rolls and choco chunk brownies. Everything is sooo good. And she brought a whole bag of books for me to borrow too!
Baby update - saw my perinatologist Wednesday of last week - baby is over 4 lbs!!! Yes, that's quite large and if growth is consistent would put her at a whopping 12+ lbs if full term.....SO am anxiously awaiting my next appt tomorrow and gestational diabetes test on Thursday. As of last check, my weight and blood pressure were perfect to low, but apparently the diabetes can appear with hardly any notice so will just have to wait and see. Really hoping for good news as I can imagine Parker morphing into a fearful food monitoring tyrant for the next two months!
