Last week AISB hosted a 3rd grade arts performance entitled "Totem Stories". We got to attend and see Parker perform musical and drama skits. He was so excited about the performance and felt very privileged to get to take part in all aspects of the event - building the totems for stage decor, singing on the bleachers, announcing animals, play-acting a cheetah, doing the blanket toss, a summary monologue and even getting to present flowers to the drama teacher at the end. He was very confident on stage and did a great job with all his roles!
I'm awfully disappointed as most of our pictures did not turn out, but here are the best ones -

Totems decorating the stage
The program was about honoring nature. They started by explaining "we do not often sing of a lost love or a new love, we sing of our environment". Then they poetically introduced all of the animals and sang songs about the environment and wildlife.

Parker was the cheetah. Each animal actor was introduced and then playacted their animal across the stage. Parker intro was: "The Cheetah teaches us of camouflage and speed".
