Parker and Lindsey after 1st basketball game

Parker had his first summer basketball game today and Lindsey went to watch (sleep). It was a fun game and Parker played alot (notice the sweat soaked head).

Lindsey still won't take a pacifier!!!

Lindsey still won't take a pacifier and now cries if one is even near her mouth. I've read and heard that if a baby won't take a pacifier they usually end up having some cuddle item that they get attached to like a blanket, teddy or toy. I came across some funny (but not funny) stories about parents who can't go anywhere without the cuddle item, have to go back to stores and parks to find lost ones, who desperately search ebay for replacements and pay $500 for a $10 toy, who have to hide it in backpacks for their kids to take off to kindergarten. So, I started trying to think of a good cuddle for Lindsey - something cheap, always available, not embarrassing to tote off to elementary school.....then one day I was carrying her in from the truck and looked down to find the perfect solution.

Parker takes tennis course

Parker took a week long tennis course at the CyFair Community College this week. The instructor was the coach for the CC team and I think Parker really learned alot. He had a great time and tied for 1st place in the course winning a new tennis racket. Parker told me about the competition on the first day of the course and said he didn't know what he would do with the new tennis racket WHEN he won it (since he just bought a new one on Sunday to use for the course). I thought that was a bit cocky, but each day when he got in the truck he confidently told me that he was still in 1st place. Today, he got in the truck and told me that he won the tennis racket and that the coach had asked him what he was going to do with it. Parker told him he was going to give it to his little sister Lindsey.

Lindsey is 1 month old

Lindsey turned 1 month old on Sunday. Here she is marking the day by looking fruitalicious -

We've had a busy first month - sleeping, eating, pooing, bathing, strolling and hanging out in the bouncy.

On Monday, Lindsey went grocery shopping for the first time. I carried her in the snugli and Parker helped by pushing the buggy and filling it up (I still can't bend over or pick up heavy stuff). It was a fun adventure and Parker scored her a "I've been Krogering" sticker to wear -

On Tuesday, Parker and I took Lindsey to her first sick appt with the doctor. She has her first cold and first ear infection. I was definitely not expecting her to get sick so soon, but think that we lucked out - she's been a tad bit fussy, but overall I can hardly tell a difference.
