Goosey went under a big knife on Tuesday and survived! It's been a rough week for her though. After the surgery she had to stay at the hospital until 7pm that evening and then came home to less than normal living conditions. The doctor said that she has to wear an elizabethan collar (so she can't lick her incision) and be confined with very little movement (in a cage, no running, climbing, jumping) until her stitches come out in JANUARY. She is also taking pain meds and antibotics 2X day. It has been hard on all of us to restrict her so much because she doesn't understand why it is happening.
The hardest thing for Parker has been the bare skin. She was completely shaven on her underbelly and all the way around her right front leg. He says it is weird and makes him feel funny like he is looking at her bones.
The hardest thing for Goosey has been missing the Christmas tree. Goosey is always excited around Christmas because she gets to hang about around and under and up in the tree for a month. She misses it so much, a couple of times she has escaped her enclosure and we've found her sitting in front of the tree gazing up at the lights or lounging underneath.
I think of all of us, it has been hardest on Glenn. He has been very worried and stayed up with her several nights so she can be out of jail under his watchful eye. He might be her favorite human after this. (He says he's just protecting the investment, but we know better.)
I just keep telling her that it was for the best and that everything will be back to normal soon.
