September highlights

September passed so quickly! I was a bit negligent in posting to the blog last month. We were just busy living life. We have gotten back into the school days routine with early mornings and evenings filled with activities and homework. Parker is taking chess and swimming as his after school activities this session and just started his first year of Webelos Scouts. He's also taking on some additional studies at home to cover U.S. topics like states & capitals and U.S. Presidents. Ms. Andrea is taking Lindsey to parks and children's activities around Budapest and also doing fun arts & crafts projects at home. She's eating a wonderful variety of veggies, fruits and yogurts as well as yummy home-cooked meals by Ms. Magdi (and me on the weekends!). Lindsey is no longer our "Sunshine Girl"; she's decided she wants to be called "Wintertime Girl" instead. I think she can't remember how cold it was last year! She's also quite a daredevil and we (especially Glenn) are always on edge. Glenn's attempted to pad all the sharp corners and surfaces around the house....we have diapers duck-taped on the corners of our dining table, a comforter tied around our coffee table and sheets tied around a big living room column. I think he's still traumatized from Parker's 2 year old stiches...and the tooth incident/surgery didn't help! Pics from Sept -

Parker and Lindsey
Saturday morning fun. For Lindsey at least...she rides hard and fast...it's terrifying! Parker provided the safety equipment -- eye and ear protection, bungie cords as seat belts.

The ladybugs and turtles are made from walnuts
The animal figures are made from chestnuts and toothpicks
